While all of this is horrible, the question has to be asked: how did he end up on The Bachelorette when the show’s producers supposedly do thorough background checks on all participants? It’s incredibly unlikely that on-going legal proceedings wouldn’t show up in a background check, especially for something as serious as this. So, what went wrong? While we have no real way of knowing at this point, seeing as how no one from the show has spoken about Adim’s conviction, it’s possible that either someone at the agency used to run background checks screwed up, or, by the time his legal troubles were found out and reported to producers on the show, he was already filming and it was seen as too much trouble to replace him at that point. Either way, someone should get into major trouble for this.
